AECOM Water/Wastewater Technical Lead in Morrisville, North Carolina

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Water/Wastewater Technical Lead in our Morrisville, NC office. This Technical Leadership role within AECOM offers an exciting opportunity to focus on project delivery and mentoring a young engineering staff. The successful candidate will focus on all aspects of project development, design, permitting, bidding, and construction administration of municipal water/wastewater infrastructure projects, particularly conveyance and pumping systems, and be willing to mentor our junior staff. Our staff have excellent client relationships and backlog in our region.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering- preferably Civil or Environmental

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in municipal water/wastewater infrastructure design, assessment, and rehabilitation to include conveyance and pumping systems.

  • Must have a proven track record of leading technical engineering and successfully delivering water and wastewater projects, resulting in securing additional projects from clients.

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • Occasional business travel of one to three days per month may be required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in municipal water/wastewater infrastructure design, assessment, and rehabilitation to include conveyance and pumping systems.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in NC or be able to obtain within 6 months.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, and ability to successfully direct multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Demonstrated project management skills.

  • Positive attitude, good aptitude, and strong initiative will integrate well with our existing group of outstanding professionals

  • Experience in preparation of engineering proposals for submission to clients, and in business development.

  • Experience mentoring or supervising other engineering professionals.

  • Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with diverse audience groups including clients, the public, regulatory staff, sub-consultants, and internal technical staff.
