AECOM Construction Inspector in Murray, Utah
AECOM is seeking a Construction Inspector based in Murray, Utah. This candidate will be required to work in the field and field offices and will primarily be responsible for overseeing nighttime concrete pours.
Position is scheduled to begin on November 2022.

The Construction Inspector (CI) position reports to, and works closely with, the Deputy Construction Manager (DCM) in support of contractors’ work associated with construction of the new Salt Lake City Water Reclamation Facility (SLCWRF). The CI will also support the DCM in other aspects of the SLCWRF construction as directed by the DCM related to the overall Program success.
Conduct themselves with professionalism and composure to interact with client customers while representing the client.
Document all work being performed by the Contractor using electronic forms.
Notify DCM of any concerns or problems encountered in the field.
Take measurements to calculate quantities for the work being performed by the Contractor.
Critically think and problem solve to resolve issues that arise from work.
Review and understand contract documents and specifications for the work being performed.
Provide clear and concise communications to the Contractor and Construction Management Team.
Responsible for monitoring conformance of quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
Perform daily field observations and maintains observation records.
Observe work in progress to assure conformance with Contract Documents.
Review, understand, and enforce contract documents and specifications.
Train and work well with other Construction Inspectors.
Be willing and able to work nights.
Physical Demands of Position:
Occasional long hours (more than 40-hrs a week).
Ability to stand and walk for several hours per day (minimal sitting / desk time).
Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to inspect low points or enter crawl spaces or basements.
Ability to inspect items close or far and good peripheral vision to maintain awareness of surroundings.
Ability to maneuver in and out of work truck without issues.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with the Contractor for identifying discrepancies, clarifying disputes, and working in a Team environment.
Ability to frequently lift objects of 10+lbs and/or move up to 50lbs.
Ability to wear all appropriate personal protective equipment for position.
Ability to pass random drug test.
Routinely working out of work truck to review, complete, and submit daily reports through electronic forms.
Working near construction equipment.
Exposure to hot, cold, and wet conditions, fumes or airborne particles related to construction activities.
Noise level in the work environment may exceed 85 decibels.
- HS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
4 years construction inspections/observation experience with reinforced concrete.
Ability to drive a company vehicle and maintain it.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
Have or be willing to become ACI Concrete Technician I Certified
