AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern to be based in Murray, Utah .

Our traffic team supports roadway and transit projects across the entire western United States. We develop and use traffic models to provide insights into a variety of projects from freeways and interchanges to arterial streets across all modes of transportation including. We also do conceptual and final design for signals and signing and striping components of projects. This position will participate in multidiscipline teams to meet scope, schedule and budget on large and small tasks and projects under the mentorship of experienced and well-respected leaders in the transportation industry. This is an exceptional opportunity to be involved with some of the largest and most important infrastructure projects for our clients in Utah and around the country.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.

  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.

  • Intern 1 – completion of first year of qualified study.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidate must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

  • Completion of the first year of qualified study

  • Valid driver’s license is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Basic knowledge of CADD and industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation)

  • Transportation Engineering coursework

  • Familiarity with traffic engineering software such as HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, or VISSIM

  • Strong organizational, technical and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently or within a team environment
