AECOM Embedded EHS Specialist-Mid Level-TN in Nashville, Tennessee

Job Summary

AECOM Environment Business Line is seeking an Entry Level EHS Specialist near Murphy, TN. The successful candidate will:

  • Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.

  • Collect and enter data, and applies technical principles and theories.

  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

  • Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrates experience in environmental projects and related efforts such as conducting site visits, gathering data, reviewing compliance records, auditing environmental programs,

  • managing data in Excel, conducting research, report writing, and sampling

  • Independently performs most assignments with instructions as to the general results expected, except for complex and unusual situations in which case he/she must be proactive and ask questions of supervisory staff for guidance/support

  • Presents themselves as a positive face of the company to current and potential clients

  • Interacts with clients, understands their needs, and converses with regulators on their behalf

  • Local travel required and continental US travel anticipated

  • Selected candidate must be reviewed and approved by the customer.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or related field

  • Good verbal and writing skills

  • Proficient with word processing and spreadsheet programs

  • Ability to be detail-oriented, multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Ability to evaluate problems and develop creative and functional solutions

  • General knowledge of environmental auditing in multiple program areas (e.g., Hazardous Waste, solid waste, stormwater, water, wastewater EPCRA, air, natural and cultural resources, permits, hazardous materials and others)

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

  • Due to the nature of this work, qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

Preferred Qualifications

  • 40-Hour OSHA Health and Safety Training
