Job Description

AECOM Hunt is seeking a highly talented Assistant Project Manager II to join our Hunt Construction group. This position will be supporting our New Orleans Convention Center project involving both new and renovation construction work. This involves project site work and will be located in New Orleans, LA.

Job Summary:

Responsible for client/project development, resource management, and supervision of construction activities as they relate to contract administration and management of scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and change management.

Responsible for overall project performance including job profit and loss for Construction projects. Job duties include but aren't limited to: coordination and integration of multidiscipline project functions including but not limited to construction, project controls, quality and commercial administration in a manner to meet project operational and business objectives. Responsible to establish a culture of safe work performance. Actively engaged in developing and managing client relations.

Plans, schedules, and coordinates projects to repair, alter and renovate building structure and installed equipment, and supervise a multi-disciplined construction workforce performing work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Under moderate supervision assists with overall management administration to large scale, complex project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.

• Employee receives moderate to limited supervision working from objectives set by supervisor. Employee organizes and carries out most assignments in accordance with standard practices, instructions, or previous training. Employee handles some unusual situations independently.

• Interacts with Superintendents to address project questions/issues.

• May be engaged in hiring subcontractors, monitoring change orders, regulatory compliance, financial reporting, negotiating solutions to major issues raised during construction that cannot be resolved on the job site at the Superintendent level, ordering removal of employees or dismissal of subs.

• May interface with design team.

• May work closely with BIM team and use modelling software.

• Provides technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, provides assistance and reporting on all facets of the project to ensure all facets are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirement:

• BA/BS + 2 years of relevant construction experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualification:

• Experience in new construction and renovations of convention centers

• Experience in interior finishes and/or MEP and/or General Construction experience
