Job Description

AECOM has a position available for a Process Engineer II to support our growing Energy Business Line in the New Orleans, Louisiana office.

Our team provides a wide range of process engineering services across markets sectors including oil and gas refining, industrial processes (petrochemical, food and beverage) and future and renewable fuels (hydrogen, RNG, biogas). We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to develop within and further the technical skills we bring to our new and existing client base. Qualified candidates will have a familiarity with process safety and be enthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficient, with ambition and drive.

The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Perform engineering analyses and design under the direct supervision of experienced and licensed professional engineers

  • Provide engineering support for multi-discipline design projects from work scope development until the completion of construction

  • Review systems from a safety standpoint

  • Evaluate and apply applicable design code requirements

  • Travel to project site and meetings as needed

  • Assist with productions of drawing and documents

AECOM’s Energy practice provides a wide range of services from consulting and engineering design to energy engineering, energy procurement and construction (EPC) for power, energy efficiency, and renewable energy clients. Our understanding of the big picture – and the interconnection between generation, distribution, storage, and the demand side of the meter – allows us to deliver holistic strategies that improve and modernize next generation energy infrastructure. We connect knowledge and experience across our global framework to bring together a unique combination of engineers, planners, scientists, and project managers who advance cleaner, secure, and more sustainable energy solutions.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from ABET accredited college or university

  • 2+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Four (4)+ years of experience

  • Familiar with principles of chemical engineering

  • Previous exposure to the creation and development of heat and material balances, process calculations, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams and equipment lists

  • Development of process models

  • Experience with simulation software like Hysys, ProMax or Aspen+ Work experience during college education via engineering cooperative education programs, engineering internships, or part-time engineering positions is preferred.

  • EIT certification preferred
