Job Description

The Water Resources Engineer will support and lead projects for water in Louisiana, Missouri and may also work on regional or national projects including planning, designing, and preparing plans related to water resources planning and infrastructure.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Technical oversight of design staff and team members for water resources projects including but not limited to floodplain modeling and mapping studies, LOMRs/CLOMRs, municipal water resources projects, and transportation drainage design.

  • Participates in project opportunity evaluation, consultant selection, and the preparation of AECOM's qualification/experience statements.

  • Coordinates and participates in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors and drafts complex professional service agreements and addenda for review by senior management.

  • Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ten (8) or more years of related experience

  • Professional Engineering (PE)

  • Flexible, motivated, candidate who can maneuver internal and external clients and has desire to grow and identify new/different opportunities while also providing them to team members.

  • Experience and familiarity with the following programs: HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS 1D/2D, SRH-2D, xpSWMM, FHWA Toolbox, HY-8, ArcGIS, AutoDesk Civil 3D Storm and Sanitary Analysis / Pipe Networks or MicroStation Geopak Drainage

  • Candidates must have proven interpersonal skills, including client interaction, public speaking, and persuasive ability; strong project financial management along with ability to lead diverse, multi-disciplined teams
