AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Asbestos & Lead Paint Inspector to be based in New York, NY (or Clifton, NJ).

The Environmental Business Line of AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Asbestos & Lead Paint Inspector for immediate employment with the EHS Department in the New York, New York and/or Clifton, New Jersey offices.
The main responsibility of the successful candidate will be to perform hazardous building materials surveys (asbestos, lead paint, etc.) and prepare the associated survey reports, as well as perform abatement oversight.
The candidate will perform the work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
This position will require that the candidate be available to perform work in both the field and office, and be able to travel out-of-town for durations ranging from one week to three months, as needed.
The successful candidate will also assist with other EHS compliance projects (i.e., site assessments, subsurface investigations, etc.) as a secondary responsibility and as needed based on workload.
This position involves field work and the ability/willingness to travel to job sites. Must be capable of working outside (sometimes in inclement weather), and able to walk long distances (at times in uneven terrain or on construction/demolition sites). The majority of field work will be within the Tri-State area.
Due to the nature of the work, sponsorship is not available for this position.
Please note candidates may be asked to submit a pre-employment MVR (motor vehicle record), drug test, and/or medical surveillance screening at the time of hire or after hire.
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related
Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Ability/willingness to perform field work and travel when needed
Valid U.S. Driver’s License
Due to the nature of this work, US Citizenship is required
Working knowledge of federal and state asbestos regulations
Asbestos consulting experience
Asbestos inspector and project monitor licensures desirable
Experience performing inspections, sampling and abatement oversight
Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and oral)
OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER, and/or OSHA 30hr or 10hr Construction safety training preferred
NYC Asbestos Investigator desirable
