AECOM is seeking a Resident Engineer to support its Construction Management Teams working in the NYC Metropolitan area on Highway Bridge related transportation projects

Responsibilities:

Provide oversight of the field construction inspectors and Office Engineer(s) during the project construction phase including; preparation of Daily Engineer’s Diary, inspectors daily work assignments, ensuring site safety monitoring, technical oversight, quality of construction, and Client satisfaction. Accountable for the planning, coordination and inspection and construction management activities and assignments of all direct reporting staff to ensure efficient utilization of staffing. Ability to balance work in the project office with the design team, schedulers, Safety Inspectors owners’ representatives and other stakeholders and utilities Interface with contractors to ensure coordination of construction activities and to meet project schedules. Ability to evaluate, resolve and provide solutions to contractors and construction inspectors for constructability issues encountered at construction sites. Experience in the evaluation and validation of contractors change order requests against contract documents, negotiating change orders costs and schedule impacts and make recommendations to the Client

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS plus 10 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE License

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, staff supervision, strong negotiation skills and conflict resolution abilities.

  • At least 15 years of experience in resident engineering, construction management, project management, engineering, and related fields
