Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Arborist for New Your City including Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Documenting all phases of construction in and around city-owned trees.
Provide oversight for excavation of sidewalk, installation of utility lines, and installation of new sidewalk around trees in the boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island, NY.
The ideal candidate will have relevant work experience with natural resources, arborist-landscaping, and/or construction oversight.
The position requires excellent business writing, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills, as well as the ability to multitask and work within deadlines.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in natural resources sciences (e.g., biology, etc.), natural resource management, or environmental science or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
Valid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications
A current Arborist Certification by the International Society of Arboriculture
Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in indoor and outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dust, and noise.
Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories.
Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.
Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories.
Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $56,000.00 - $85,000.00.
