AECOM Construction Engineering Manager in New York, New York
Job Summary
AECOM’s NY Metro area is actively seeking a highly talented Sr. Construction Manager with Design- Build experience for immediate employment for the New York, NY office. This position will be part of an exciting team employing the latest technologies to solve critical water supply, treatment, and infrastructure projects such as water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems This is an opportunity to work on some of our nation’s most pressing water infrastructure problems and contributing to AECOM’s success as an industry leader in engineering and construction.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
The Construction Manager will be charged with responsibility to actively direct the performance of an ongoing water and wastewater projects.
The Construction Manager will lead the Design/Design Quality Assurance, Construction/ Construction Quality Assurance effort on these projects
Overall responsibility for construction management and operations, staffing organization, and planning. Ensures procedures are being followed by the field staff and offers support to the Resident Engineer.
Interfaces with client, Contractors and Engineer of Record (EOR) on critical issues, risk management procedures, and quality assurance compliance
Review of monthly client reports
Approves correspondence related to construction and identifies key issues regarding disputed work, delays, additional and supplemental work, and non-conforming work; and
Ensures that safety monitoring activities within the Program’s scope of work are being accomplished.
Reviewing the contractor’s CPM schedule with assistance from the Scheduler, to assure that the schedule conforms to the CPM format required by the contract documents
Verification of clients (Standard Operating Procedure) SOP implementation on the project
Ensures that all staff training is up to date with what they are addressing in the field based upon upcoming and on-going work
Monitoring of the contractor activities during the performance of the work to determine if the work is being constructed in accordance with the contract documents
Primary receiver and reviewer of responses for all project correspondence. This includes correspondence from the contractor, the DSDC Project Manager, and the client.
Confirming that the contractor is submitting all submittals for review in a timely fashion so as not to inhibit the progress of the work
Monitoring CM team’s progress in completing the tasks associated with CM and expediting the work as required.
Reviewing all field change order requests prior to submission to the client to ensure the completeness and uniformity of content and format. The Construction Manager shall sign the letter transmitting each field change order request to the client.
Reviewing the change order log and confirm key issues identified as change orders to be prepared for inclusion in the change order log.
Where applicable participates in the negotiation of all Change Orders
Insure maintenance of project files
Establish, update and write project procedures and Project Work Plan
Verifying that all field testing, start-up, and operation and maintenance training activities are conducted in accordance with the contract documents

Minimum Requirements
BS in engineering, construction or related field+ 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience
CCM Certification
NYS Professional Engineer
DBIA Certification
OSHA 10-hour Construction Health and Safety Course
Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 30-hour Construction Health and Safety Course
NYCDEP Experience
Minimum of 10 years’ experience, with Design-Build experience in water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
Excellent communication skills for interfacing with internal and external contacts
Strong computer skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
