Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Construction Project Manager to be based in New York, NY.
Under moderate supervision proactively manage large to medium scale, complex project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.
Employee receives moderate to limited supervision working from objectives set by supervisor. Employee organizes and carries out most assignments in accordance with standard practices, instructions, or previous training. Employee handles some unusual situations independently.
Interacts with Superintendents and other stakeholders to address project questions/issues.
May be engaged in hiring subcontractors, monitoring change orders, regulatory compliance, financial reporting, negotiating solutions to major issues raised during construction that cannot be resolved on the job site at the Superintendent level, ordering removal of employees or dismissal of subs.
May work closely with BIM team and use modelling software.
Provides technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, provides assistance and reporting on all facets of the project to ensure all facets are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
Manages daily activities of the contractor, reviews contractors’ construction schedules and submittals, and coordinates responses to the contractors’ inquiries thru the Requests for Information (RFI) and other related documents.
Monitor the construction work to ensure the contractors are performing installations per the design documents and local codes and regulations.
Receives, reviews, and negotiates Contractor Change Order Proposal(s) to achieve a fair & reasonable price in accordance with the General Conditions; reviews and addresses any and all Schedule impacts in accordance with the project specifications in a timely manner.
Reviews the process and monitors payments for the contractor, architects, engineers, and any other pertinent parties.
Monitors and manages project close-out with respect to project certification Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and project financial close out.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS plus 6 years of relevant eperience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Valid Driver’s License
Due to the nature of the job, U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience with preconstruction, bid packages, proposal writing and other construction documentation.
Previous experience communicating with clients, agencies, subcontractors or other interested parties.
Ability to create/update schedules as necessary using Primavera P6.
LEED, BIM, and DSA experience preferred.
CCM certification
Prior experience leading a large commercial, public agency, or educational construction project.
Certifications to include a Professional Engineers License and a certification from the Design Build Institute of American
Fluency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word)

We are not offering sponsorship for this position.
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $116,000 - $180,000.
