Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly talented, self-driven and motivated Deputy Project Manager to be based in New York, New York area working in the NY Metro Transit Rail Project and Design Management group. In this role, you will have the opportunity to become a certified AECOM Project Manager within 1 year of hire date.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Become part of a Transit Rail department that delivers complex projects for various transit rail clients

  • Perform project management responsibilities on transit rail projects in the NY Metro area

  • Manage a multi-discipline design team to produce high quality design deliverables, meet schedules and stay within project budgets

  • Coordinate construction phase services for both design-build and design-bid-build projects

  • Respond to client issued RFQ and RFPs, assist in marketing for Transit Rail pursuits

  • Effectively communicate expectations and requirements with both clients and team members

  • Oversee development of project design schedules and project cost estimates

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Engineering with 2+ years of related management experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Must have transit/rail &/or transportation experience

Preferred Qualifications :

  • 4+ years of transit/rail &/or transportation experience

  • 4+ years of related management experience

  • Experience with Design Build projects

  • Experience with NY metro rail agencies including MTA, PANYNJ and NJ Transit

  • Professional Licenses are nice to have

  • Experience managing multi-discipline design team to produce high quality design deliverables, meet schedules and stay within project budgets

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, creative problem-solving, collaboration and leadership skill

Offered rate of compensation (NYC locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $140,000.
