The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in coordinating the installation and inspection of elevators on select NYCT Capital Improvement projects

  • Review contractor submittals and shop drawings for elevator installation

  • Coordinate review, inspection, and acceptance of materials and parts

  • Perform acceptance testing and inspection at vendor's factory

  • Monitor, inspect and prepare reports covering elevator construction activities

  • Ensure contract compliance is achieved, including ADA compliance as directed on the contract documents

  • Coordinate elevator commissioning and acceptance by NYCT User groups

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma

  • 2+ years of experience

  • NYCT Qualified Elevator Inspector

  • Experience coordinating the installation, commissioning and acceptance of NYCT elevators

  • Knowledge of NYCT Elevator and Escalator Group policies and procedures

  • Field Experience in inspecting elevators and related facilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • NYC Department of Buildings Elevator Inspector
