Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Senior Transportation Architectural Task Leader for its dynamic and rapidly growing Transportation sector. As a Senior Transportation Architectural Task Leader at AECOM, you will be a key influencer in driving the delivery of our infrastructure project in the Transit and Rail, Marine, Aviation and Highway Bridge sectors.
Position Overview:
Working closely with the Transportation practice design leadership, you'll lead projects, championing creative solutions that align with project schedules and provide direction to the engineering teams and coordinates all the trades with a commitment to quality, innovation and sustainability. Your leadership and acumen will shape projects that resonate with clients, inspire our teams, and leave a lasting positive impact.
Core Responsibilities:
Working closely with the transportation team you will take a lead role on providing code reviews and code compliance on various projects. In this role you will also lead the coordination between all project trades. Setting the tone for excellence in delivering quality and fully coordinated design amongst disciplines is central to this role and position
Facilitating client engagement and establishing and nurturing strong relationships with clients, becoming their trusted advisor is of paramount importance. Your role involves understanding their vision, aspirations, and unique needs, translating these into compelling project solutions which address these needs
Lead project teams to reach their full potential by fostering an environment that nurtures creativity while maintaining a high standard of performance. Build a collaborative framework that supports and guides project teams providing constructive feedback, and a culture of continuous improvement, empowering and encouraging individuals to excel
Collaborate freely, fostering a rich tapestry of creativity and pushing the boundaries of design excellence
Partnering closely with the business development and marketing team, you will participate in the project pitch process, RFP/RFQ responses, and project interviews via story development, strategy, graphics development, and client-facing presentation meetings
Represent AECOM at conferences and other market facing engagements related to your areas of focus
Uphold AECOM's high design standards, conducting regular reviews to ensure compliance, efficiency, and sustainability benchmarks are met
Stay abreast of current and emerging design trends, materials, and technologies within the field of architecture, ensuring our design approach remains progressive, responsive, and relevant
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related discipline + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Completed a minimum of 3 projects in the Transit and rail sector where the candidate provided architectural detailed drawings in accordance with the client standards
Good knowledge of materials and specifications to be used in heavy traffic environments in station design and for MTA and NYC Transit
Preferred Qualifications:
Good knowledge of the Benley/Microstation family of BIM and 3D modeling software
Strong preference for an Architect who brings 15+ years of experience leading the design of major projects, leading client relationships, and leading design teams.
Enthusiastic about collaborating with Architects and Designers at all stages of their professional development across AECOM.
Participate in the training and providing guidance and oversight of junior Architects
Working knowledge in relevant zoning and building codes, including local city and county codes, state building codes, accessibility compliance codes, etc.
Good working knowledge of sustainable and emerging technologies, integrated design, and future trends in digital innovation (parametric design, AI, etc.); additional professional certifications desired (PMP, LEED, WELL, etc.)
An ability to work collaboratively as a team player with both junior staff and senior leadership.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $160,000.00 - $225,000.00.
