Job Description
AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a dynamic, talented Project Director for immediate employment to be based out of our Newark, DE, Conshohocken, PA or Philadelphia, PA offices. The appropriate qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career serving as a client-facing project director on federal, regional, state, and municipal water, wastewater, and water resources projects; preferably within eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and/or northern Delaware. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within an established and successful group that offers a diverse range of technical challenges and career development opportunities.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
The Project Director will be charged with responsibility to actively direct the performance of ongoing water and wastewater projects as well as take a leadership role in the development and capture of upcoming projects and programs.
Directs managers on a portfolio of projects, provides guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and is a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface.
Ensure all facets of the project are being conducted in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
Overall responsibility and management of projects including but not limited to budgeting/schedule stage, procurement, through contract closeout.
Position has primary fiscal responsibility and is a key liaison between client for assigned project.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental or chemical or related Engineering degree plus 8 years of relevant experience and demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Registered Professional Engineer.
Minimum of 8 years experience with water and wastewater treatment, pumping stations, collection and distribution systems and client/consultant relations.
Preferred Qualifications:
12+ years of related experience in water/wastewater/water resources consulting and engineering management
Registered Professional Engineer licensed in Pennsylvania, Delaware or New Jersey.
Proven ability of leading business development activities, pursuing new clients/projects, and managing project deliveries
Proven leader with an interest in developing and mentoring team members and demonstrated ability to successfully work in diverse teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Participation in water community activities including Water Environment. Federation and American Water Works Association.
