Job Description
AECOM has a position available for a Project Controls Senior Manager to join our growing Energy Business Line supporting large multi-year projects as part of the program and construction management team. The projects include grid modernization, transportation electrification, renewable fuels, emerging markets in hydrogen and carbon capture, microgrids, solar and battery storage, and other energy projects.
AECOM is pursuing projects in the industrial, municipal, defense, and commercial market segments. AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices located in multiple locations across the United States.
AECOM’s Energy practice provides a wide range of services from consulting and engineering design to energy engineering, energy procurement and construction (EPC) for power, energy efficiency, and renewable energy clients.
The responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:
Assist with the development of commercial strategies and participating in negotiations.
Act as a lead for the project controls function on various projects. Documents employee performance issues and plays an instrumental role in resolution as appropriate.
Conducts root cause analysis and drafts comprehensive project procedures. Reviews performance trends, prepares analysis and cost impact and monthly project performance reports, and recommends contractor invoices for approval.
Evaluates manpower, labor hour, and labor cost requirements versus budget limitations. Oversees the production and maintenance of accurate project schedules. Expert understanding of schedule resource loading and leveling. Assists the Project Manager in budgeting and managing incentive programs.
Establishes and maintains client relationships. Review and analyze project program and oversee the production of accurate progress/performance reports.
Review and assess raw data that comes from project automated systems. Serves as a key participant in client and/or subcontractor negotiations. Participates in staffing decisions for projects.
Ensures that a tracking database is developed and maintained to cross check subcontractor funding is aligned with work authorization and expenditures. Involved in tracking system to insure that Project Management team is fully aware of detailed change order status.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BA/BS + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership
Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction from ABET accredited college or university or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience
11+ years of relevant experience in construction management in the engineering or construction industry.
Familiarity with the NY Geographic Region
Relevant Field Experience preferred
Success in working with remote teams

Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (NY locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $220,000.
