Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Secretary II to join our team. The position will be located on the government site at Norfolk Naval Base, Norfolk, VA.

Carry out recurring office procedures independently and select the guideline or reference that fits the specific case. The supervisor provides specific instructions on new assignments and checks completed work for accuracy. Performs varied duties including or comparable to the following:

  1. EDVR/Manning Documents - management of Command manning, providing oversight and recommendations to CoC

  2. Command Tickler - develop and maintain task tracking (HQ, NETC, Navy) and Reporting for the Command

  3. NSIPS Management - maintain and track Command leave

  4. Instruction/Directive administration - track and maintain all Command instructions

  5. Command Message Tracking with ability to release

  6. FLTMPS Tracking

  7. Command Publication Management (Plan of the Week, etc)

  8. NDAWS Awards Management - assist Command Sec in this effort

  9. Evaluation/Fitrep Administration (Validation and POAM)

  10. Command Designation Letters - assist Command Sec in this effort

  11. Command History (Annual input requirement)

  12. Medical/Dental Readiness

  13. Daily Muster Reports - track completion and report up CoC

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

  • A High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the area of secretarial/clerical functions.

  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.

  • Experience editing and reformatting written or electronic drafts.

  • Experience should demonstrate more advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), basic correspondence, answering and screening incoming telephone calls, and the operation of basic office equipment.

  • Experience with military and naval correspondence

  • Must possess basic skills in computer operations.

  • Experience with office terminology and practices.

  • Position requires an active Secret DoD security clearance.

  • Position may require travel.

Preferred Qualifications

Former military and Naval Correspondence experience is preferred.
