Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a CAD Specialist I to be based in Columbia, SC, Greenville, SC, Charlotte, NC, or Charleston, SC.
This position is expected to begin in the Second Quarter.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Performs both routine and non-routine, drafting assignments, scale and edit assignments
involving the use of computer-aided design and drafting equipment and other graphics software (e.g. CADD software) to achieve set results and deadlines
CAD drafting and design for infrastructure projects (ports, civil, rail)
Drafting and design for various projects involving civil, buildings, earthworks, utilities,
stormwater, rail and/or roadways
Digitize or trace sketches or concepts from Designers using CADD software (AutoCAD)
Assists with creating and modifying 3D models, renderings and/or animations for promotion and
proposals
Perform complex assignments involving the use of multiple application platforms and complex
systems including Revit software to achieve set results and deadlines
Ownership of moderately difficult design tasks with minimal supervision
Coordination with other technicians and related disciplines to produce design deliverables
Leading development of drawing packages for a coherent functional set of plans
Preparing design submissions and other technical documents
Ensure that design drawings are compliant with the suggested data
Assistance to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS in Civil Engineering, Engineering Design and Drafting
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D ( Revit optional )
Experience taking engineering specifications and input into engineering drawings
Experience with infrastructure projects
Experience with utility profiles and cross-sections
Experience with assembling, managing, and manipulating large site surface models
Decisions made with a general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines
Follows established procedures and requires instructions only on new assignments
Experience working with Civil Site projects on master planning, conceptual design drawings, construction drawings, and engineering detail drawings
Ability to work in a constantly changing and demanding environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a flexible attitude are a must
Capable of working independently and working and enthusiastic team player and
Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task
Ability to meet quality, schedule and budget expectations
Desire to be mentored by leadership and provide mentorship to junior staff
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Awareness of ones own abilities
Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture
Must be a highly motivated self-starter with solid writing and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work with a innate desire for follow-through
Ability to work independently and with large groups of technical minded people with minimal oversight
Ability to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines
Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team- oriented work environment
Knowledge seeker that is curious about their profession and innovations to serve in better ways
Appreciative and service oriented with a willingness to serve in a sense of urgency
