AECOM is seeking a Aviation Project Manager to be based in San Francisco Bay Area.

Job Description

AECOM Aviation Transportation Business Line is actively seeking a talented Aviation Project Manager for our Bay Area aviation team. You will join a global aviation team of talented aviation program/project managers, planners and engineers specializing in Bay Area aviation clients.

The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to:

  • Join AECOM Aviation team which is recognized as leaders in aviation projects and continues to deliver high profile and impactful projects.

  • Join a team that is actively involved in the delivery of several high- profile aviation projects; airfield and landside planning, design and construction for of regional, national, and international clients including significant aviation design projects.

  • Lead a large team for capital airport expansion and improvement project, including assembling a project management and construction management team to execute and deliver this long-term program.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for leading and collaborating with commercial and general aviation airports in the San Francisco Bay Area.

  • Builds strong relationships and interacts with key client stakeholders, teaming partners, industry groups, and stakeholders linked to the Aviation industry, serving as an ambassador for AECOM

  • Negotiate favorable contract terms and conditions, manages achievement of sales goals, gross margin, backlog, and other financial and business goals.

  • Responsible for managing the developing of the landside, airside and terminal civil airfield planning, design and construction improvement bid documents, while working with experienced aviation planning and design staff.

  • Regular contact and direct supervision of the program management office, the planning and design team members, contractors, and subconsultants for ongoing planning, design, and construction projects.

  • Lead and manage programs that are medium to large in size and complexity.

  • Provides the organization with technical leadership and strategic direction for program delivery globally.

  • Champion for ethical and safe working practices.

  • Drives innovation in program management approaches and methodology to achieve marketplace differentiation.

  • Works with Global Business Lines, Regional leadership and Market Sector Leaders to identify new business opportunities and develop solutions to address them.

  • Identifies areas of high risk and proactively takes actions to positively impact program outcomes.

  • Manages program budgets, schedule and risks.

  • Lead procurement, contract negotiations, and change management.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS + 12 of airport/airfield planning or airfield civil engineering/architecture design experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership

  • Experience with design, construction, and operations of large-scale Aviation Projects/Programs

  • CA PE preferred

  • Strong leadership and group management experience and skills

  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a dedication to developing lasting client partnerships (internally and externally)

  • A trusted advisor and highly regarded leader who can garner client confidence

  • Proven strengths in developing, executing, and achieving strategic and operational plans in a team environment

  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations

Additional Information

  • Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $205,000 - $260,000.
