AECOM Construction Engineer VI in Oakland, California

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Construction Engineer to be based in San Francisco, CA.

This position, under general direction, performs difficult and complex duties utilizing advanced techniques with extensive and diversified knowledge of engineering problems and methods.

The responsibilities of this position include, but not limited to:

  • Contract Administration and Construction Management for highway and bridge construction projects in North California.

  • Managing the construction work, monthly pay estimates, change orders, resolving field conflicts and notices of potential claim, coordinating utility relocation, monitoring progress schedule, materials testing, surveying, acceptance of the completed work and contract close out.

  • Assumes lead responsibilities for a team of engineers and professional support staff.

  • As a Resident Engineer lead the construction management team in all aspects of construction work, coordination with all stakeholders and quality assurance for the work completed.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Valid Driver License Required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineer or Construction Management

  • 10+ years of experience with transportation and construction engineering projects: roadways, bridges

  • Experience with bridge projects constructed to Caltrans specifications

  • Previous experience with large bridge replacement projects

  • Scheduling using MS Project and P6 desirable.

  • Familiarity with project contract fundamentals and accounting principles.

  • Strong problem solving, organizational, people, math and accounting skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
