Relies on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Responsible for setting own project deadlines.
Provides on the job training to new employees.
Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.
Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
Tracks quality assurance progress.
Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
High School and 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education performing structures inspection services (bridges, retaining walls, etc.)
Ability to use and reference the following:
Caltrans Falsework Manual
Caltrans Trench and Shoring Manual
Bridge Construction Records and Procedures Manual
Caltrans Foundation Manual
Caltrans Prestress Manual
Caltrans Deck Construction Manual
Ability to work in various environment (office and field construction sites)
Ability to work alternative shifts including weekends and nights
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
BS in Civil Engineering
CA Professional Engineer
Certifications for applicable CTMs, ASTMs and/or ACI procedures and take samples and perform field-controlled tests of construction materials for quality assurance
Previous experience working with in Caltrans Right of way performing structures inspection
