Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Construction Project manager to be based in Orange, CA.

Project Manager will be the lead and main point of contact on on-call projects overseeing the client’s construction management needs for water or wastewater-related projects. Will be responsible for responding to client RFP, project staffing, program schedule, and overall client satisfaction for successful delivery of the client program. Will be expected to be a doer/seller and able to support the client on projects as well as oversee task orders.

  • Provides guidance to employees within the latitude of established policies.

  • Establishes procedures that affect immediate organization.

  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including understanding of current business trends.

  • Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.

  • May have budget responsibilities. Erroneous decision or failure to achieve results adds to costs and may impact short-term goals of organization.

  • Oversees the administration of projects during the construction cycle including technical, financial, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

Required:

  • BA/BS + 8 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • California PE License

  • Driving is required for this position

Preferred:

  • Experience as Construction Manager, Resident Engineer, or Commissioning Engineer on water or wastewater projects with construction value $15M+.

  • Experience working with OCSan, IRWD, City of LA BOE, and/or LACSD.

  • Excellent Communication Skills

  • Experience overseeing a project staff.

  • Strong understanding of standards and Specifications

  • Experience writing and negotiating change orders.

  • Experience with dispute resolution and claims

  • Pump station or plant experience.

  • Commissioning experience

  • Existing relationships with water or wastewater entities in Southern California

  • Technical Writing skills

  • Experience in pursuit interviews as key staff

Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $122,820.39 - $227,217.73.
