AECOM is actively seeking a talented and highly motivated Sustainability Consultant to join the High-Performance Buildings and Communities team. This multi-disciplined team provides High Performance design leadership and consulting on sustainable buildings and communities with projects ranging from the design of net zero buildings to the sustainable planning of major global eco-cities.
The candidate will have a technical background such as Engineering, Building Sciences, Architecture or similar and a minimum of 2 years professional experience in the green building/design sector.
The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:
Developing sustainability guidelines and action plans - working with clients to develop sustainability goals and targets.
Providing data analysis and interpretation and/or creation of excel tools.
Assisting in project and program management activities ensuring that projects remain within scope, budget and schedule working in close coordination with project team, subconsultants and clients
Providing support on Envision consulting taking large projects from conception to completion. Be the point of contact for Envision projects within the team.
Creating sustainability and ESG plans for multiple client types including city, county, and private entities.
Facilitating successful project certification from start to finish for multiple other rating system types including LEED and WELL Building Standard.
Providing leadership in sustainability consulting for multiple client types to help client meet sustainability goals. Conduct early-stage Charrettes to assist clients with establishing project sustainability and healthy building goals and objectives and define a path to compliance with third-party rating system requirements when applicable.
Guiding our in-house disciplines to identify opportunities to meet client sustainability goals and requirements and comply with third-party rating system requirements when applicable
Developing and review specifications related to project sustainability and healthy building goals.
There is opportunity in this role to support work undertaken by other parts of the team including high performance building modelling and evaluation including but not limited to ASHRAE 90.1 energy modeling, local code compliance documentation, daylight simulations, parametric design modeling, embodied carbon calculations and energy planning.
Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Building Sciences, Architecture, or a related field
Minimum of 2+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education
Experience in developing sustainability guidelines and action plans - working with clients to develop sustainability goals and targets.
Experience providing data analysis and interpretation and/or creation of excel tools.
Experience with project and program management activities ensuring that projects remain within scope, budget and schedule working in close coordination with project team, subconsultants and clients
Knowledge of other sustainability assessment systems such as LEED, WELL Building Standard and Fitwell.
Knowledge and/or experience with building energy code compliance.
Ability to communicate problems clearly and simply to clients, engineers, and architects with client facing experience
Strong problem solving, analytical and research skills.
Ability to balance various project and company responsibilities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and quality.
Work collaboratively and proactively with a diverse group of teams and subconsultants in a fast-paced environment.
Adaptable and flexible, showing a willingness and ability to take on new projects or areas with or without supervision
Additional certifications/licenses e.g., Envision SP, ASHRAE BEMP, CEM, LEED AP, WELL AP, are a plus.
Masters' degree preferred in engineering, planning, or sustainability-related field.
Understanding of high performance and zero carbon building principles and technologies.
Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite, and in particular, Excel for data analytics.
Experience and knowledge of energy simulation software.
Knowledge, experience or interest in working with parametric design workflows.
Knowledge of any programming languages.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
The target the salary range is $$70,000-100,000k
