We are hiring a Civil Engineer for the Tampa or Orlando office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Computer-aided design and drafting of site layout, roadway, grading, and utility systems using tools including, but not limited to AutoCAD Civil3D.
Assists in report preparation, site reconnaissance, and communications with the AECOM project team.
Reviews regulations and standards necessary to carry out project design and permitting work
Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects
Incorporates schedules, budgets and project criteria into civil design and layouts
Conducts site visits at active construction sites to examine field conditions, site work that is under construction, site utilities, sediment and erosion control inspections, as built conditions
Works closely with the project team, including civil, geotechnical, traffic engineers, and surveyors to provide value to each project
Works under supervision of Project Manager or Senior Civil Engineer
Exercises judgement limited to developing details of work in making preliminary decisions and material selections, and adaptations of engineering alternatives
Utilizes standard techniques, procedures, and criteria while gaining understanding of advanced methods
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field and 2+ years of experience in design and permitting of site utilities including water, sanitary sewer and storm drainage or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education
Strong working experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required, including experience in one or more of the following:
Objects – Styles & Labels;
Designing Surfaces (3D Feature Lines & Grading Groups);
Working with Pipe Networks (Alignments & Profiles);
Corridor Design (Assemblies & Subassemblies);
Working with Data Shortcuts;
Working with Plan Production Tools
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Experience working on land development projects with multiple utilities including domestic water supply and distribution, fire water, gravity sanitary sewer, pressure sanitary force mains, process wastewater, fiber and telecommunications, storm drainage piping and retention/detention systems design.
Experience coordinating with multiple disciplines including architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, structural engineers, and contractors.
Commitment to working efficiently to complete tasks within allotted schedule constraints
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong organizational, technical, and communications skills
Valid US driver's license
Florida work experience is preferred.
