Job Description
AECOM is seeking for a Plant Operator I for an Environmental remediation project in Sarasota, FL.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Performs a variety of tasks in support of water treatment system operation.
Activities may include setting up and operating equipment; inspecting equipment; inspection of engineering installations for compliance with specifications; maintaining project documentation; assisting with the building, repair, or maintenance of treatment system.
Relies on basic understanding of procedures and company policies to plan and accomplish basic goals.
Performs a variety of routine tasks and works under close supervision.
Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.
Operation and maintenance of water treatment system
System is manned 24/7 365 days per year. 12 hour shifts 3/4 sequential days each week. Some weekends/holidays required.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check.
Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug screening.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record to operate company vehicle on site.
Preferred Requirements
40-hour HAZWOPER a plus
Troubleshoot problems and perform routine tasks
The person in this position needs to frequently move and works in both indoor and outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor and hazardous conditions including heat, cold, noise, and chemicals.
Position needs to perform walk-throughs to complete hourly indoor plant checks.
Position requires ability to operate computer system to monitor operation of water treatment systems
Position requires occasional repetitive bending & stooping and the gripping of hand and power tools to perform maintenance work.
Position requires occasionally ascending/descending on inside and outside portable ladders and work at heights to perform maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting or repairs.
Position requires occasionally lifting of up to 50 lb. bags of chemicals up to 4 ft to release contents into a tank without assistance.
Position requires occasionally moving or shifting equipment or bulk chemical containers weighing up to 75 pounds with assistance.
Position requires on rare occasions wearing fall protection equipment.
Position requires frequently working independently in isolated areas.
Position requires consistent use of personal protective equipment, including but not limited to gloves, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, hearing protection, respiratory protection, and fall protection.
Position requires the ability to learn and apply standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
