Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. has multiple openings for a Structural Engineer I to be based in Orlando, FL.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the Structural Department with the layout and design of building structures and water/wastewater treatment facilities.

  • Perform a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

  • Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.

  • Utilize analysis software and uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

  • Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures. Perform condition assessments, site visits, and construction inspections of building and water/wastewater treatment facilities.

  • Develop condition assessment reports.

  • Develop structural technical specifications.

  • Develop construction drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/practices.

  • Position requires 20% travel.


Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must have a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field and 12 months of experience in the job offered or in a structural engineering-related occupation. Position requires:

  1. Structural engineering analysis and design for environmental structures;

  2. Working knowledge of building codes including ACI 318/350/530 code;

  3. Using analytical and design software: ETABS, SAFE, RAM, SAP 2000, ENERCALC, RISA, and MATHCAD;

  4. Developing in-house structural templates in Excel and MATHCAD;

  5. Developing complex structural models in REVIT and AUTOCAD; and

  6. Performing condition assessments of existing environmental structures including water or wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, pump stations and water intake structures.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $79,019.00 - $112,967.37.
