Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking highly talented and hardworking additions to our growing transit systems practice in the North-East and is looking to hire an Electrical Engineer recent graduate with a minimum of 0-3 years of experience in traction power or railroad design.

This position is expected to begin in January 2022.

This unique and exciting position offers the opportunity to work in a developing practice with great growth opportunities, while receiving support from a global system practice which leads the nation in transit systems design.

Understanding this is an entry-level position, it will be expected for the recent grad to have interest on learning the following, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare design drawings and documents, technical specifications, cost estimates, calculations, and studies associated with power system.

  • Prepare one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications.

  • Learn to exercise of judgment on details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.

  • Learn to communicate well with others and support business development opportunities.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering degree or a related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc…)

  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally to all AECOM, partner, and client office locations, including project offices, if applicable.

  • Ability to perform site investigations and walk-downs in high-voltage substations and along electrified railroads.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
