Job Description

AECOM Federal is seeking to hire a Senior Construction Project Manager to add to our Federal Programs construction team. This position can be remote and located anywhere within the Continental United States and will require deployment to US based project site locations across our Federal Division’s construction business portfolio.

Job Summary:

  • This individual will be responsible for leading teams to deliver projects in the Federal market sector using advanced knowledge of construction, plan review, construction means and methods, scheduling, financials, and problem solving.

  • Manages scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and change management.

  • The Senior Project Manager has the authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis, and to verify that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost and to achieve the potential benefits defined in the business case.

  • The Senior Project Manager must have excellent motivation and communication skills, being capable of dealing with employees, owners, architects, engineers and project subcontractors is required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related curriculum and 10 years of relevant experience in construction management with experience in the Federal contracting space.

  • Due to the nature of this position, United States Citizenship is required.

  • Valid Driver’s License to operate an AECOM provided motor vehicle on construction project site(s) to support project tasks assignments and scope of work. For positions with driving responsibilities, Motor Vehicle Records are reviewed as part of AECOM’s background check process to ensure compliance with the Company’s driving standards.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Civil Engineer or Construction Management degree with at least 10 years of construction project management experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, P6 scheduling, material take-offs, estimating, project scheduling, and shop drawings, as well as be able to manage issues, risks, and project change to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.

  • Have exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal with technical and non-technical staff and all levels of management.

  • Have experience in successfully leading projects and programs on schedule and on budget.

  • Have experience in drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending subsequent budget changes when necessary.

  • Must be capable of developing a critical path schedule and comprehending construction drawings.

  • Experience with Firm-Fixed-Price, At-Risk, Federal Construction with the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and/or the Department of Energy, such as military installations, infrastructure and dormitories, hangars, hospitals, laboratories, and office buildouts.

  • Must have or be able to obtain USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors certification.

  • Must have or be able to obtain OSHA 30-Hr. Safety Training

  • Familiarity with government specifications and EM-385 guidelines.

  • Working knowledge of Federal Contract delivery and Federal Subcontracting.

  • Familiarity with FAR/DFAR requirements.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with construction building codes and standards as it relates to civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical trades.

  • Have the skills and experience to take on projects and programs ranging from $50 to $300 million dollars.

  • Must be able to travel as required to perform responsibilities, such as attending client Industry Days, proposal development and onsite project management.

  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization, now or in the future.

  • The position will provide relocation benefits (per diem).

  • This position will require a 55-12 background check; performed by the client.

  • Due to the nature of this project, United States Citizenship is required.

  • Must possess the ability to operate a motor vehicle on construction project site(s) to support project and safety task assignments and scope of work.

  • Successful candidate must be ready and willing to deploy to AECOM Federal CONUS projects.

  • Preference is for candidate to have their own vehicle (reimbursed expenses), unless deployed to a site where per diem is provided.
