Job Summary

AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Project Manager - Water / Wastewater for immediate employment to be based out of our Philadelphia Office.

The Water/Wastewater Project Manager will be managing a project to achieve specified objectives. Involves the overall planning, coordination and control of a project from inception to completion to produce a functionally and financially viable project that will be completed on time within authorized cost and to the required quality. Manages scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and change management.

The appropriate qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in municipal infrastructure market specializing in wastewater collection, conveyance and treatment as well as water distribution and treatment. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within an established and successful group that offers a diverse range of technical challenges and career development opportunities.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages portfolio of clients with multiple projects.

  • Responsible for delivering revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business caused by flawless execution of projects.

  • Consistently delivers profit margins planned.

  • Consistently completes project without write-downs or multiplier erosion.

  • Typically manages projects involving RTF (Risk Triggering Factors).

  • Manages more complex clients and projects.

  • Has decision-making authority and directs other Project Managers in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such.

  • Directs staff to operate and minimize exposure to claims.

  • Supervises and directs junior staff on multiple projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS or BA degree OR demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Water / Wastewater Engineering

  • 10+ years’ experience in municipal Water / Wastewater market

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or training in project management

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain reciprocity within six (6) months of hire

  • Demonstrated experience in business development

  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex municipal Water / Wastewater projects

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with business and contractual agreements

  • Ability to work independently; strong interpersonal, negotiating, problem-solving, analytical skills

  • Motivated, team player, independent, organized
