AECOM Civil Engineer V in Phoenix, Arizona

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer V to be based in Phoenix, AZ

Job Summary/Responsibilities

  • Initiate and create project designs and drawings/plans for transportation and/or civil design projects

  • Perform detailed design including preparation of complete calculation packages and development of details.

  • Guide drafting team for preparation of drawings from early stages of the design to the final contract plans.

  • Serve as a fully capable professional with minimal direction

  • Understand the importance of review and quality control and able to perform review of design calculations and drawings and specifications

  • Prepare and contribute in the development and implementation of technical approach in projects in collaboration with the Project Manager

  • Oversee the work of less experienced designers.

  • Meet with clients to ensure client needs are met

  • Develop estimates of technical efforts for projects

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing highway/roadway systems in Arizona

  • previous design experience on transportation projects including Schematic Development and Preparation of Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E)

  • Experience with Business Development/Client Relations

  • Professional Engineer (PE)(Arizona)

  • Experience with design software including MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil3D, GEOPAK and/or OpenRoads

  • Familiar with MS Office software (Excel, Word, Project)
