AECOM has positions available for Microgrid Energy Solution Architects to join our exciting Clean Energy initiative supporting clients pursuing projects in the municipal, defense, C&I and higher education market segments. These positions will be primarily remote based, located anywhere in the United States, with the preference being in proximity to an AECOM Energy office. The Solution Architect will lead the development of projects in collaboration with regional BDMs to advance engineering solution and services to AECOM customers
This position will be primarily remote based, with some travel, and can be filled from anywhere in the United States, with a preference for some proximity to AECOM Energy offices.

The responsibilities for the position include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Develop models of the microgrid electrical power and energy system using conventional and advanced analysis tools, Use the tools to verifies stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture.
Use AECOM existing or seek out the development or application of new engineering design tools to select and develop microgrid solutions.
Conducting studies, to determine system stability under all operation modes and conditions
Technical lead on microgrid opportunities and assigned projects,
Participate in design, deployment and commissioning of microgrids and microgrid control systems,
Provide day-to-day technical support to development teams throughout AECOM.
Document designs, develop specifications, system approval test procedures and instructions, and other system-related information.
Author and prepare customer reports and technical papers for conferences,
Work closely with business development director on the assessment of new opportunities.
Actively participate in development and delivery of training of additional resources in his/her area of expertise,
Provide strategic input in identification of and securing business with new customers,
Build relationships with the customers, subcontractors, product engineering team, and others throughout the project development cycle.
May provide oversight of a project team to assure technical and financial milestones are met.

Bachelors degree in Engineering is required
8+ years of experience in power generation / industry
Willing to travel as requested
Masters degree or PhD in Electrical or Electronics engineering
3+ years of research and development experience, including development of concepts for system architecture, or the application of energy storage, solar, wind, and generator controls.
Familiarity with interconnect standards and communication protocols
Advanced knowledge of control methods, energy management systems, load controllers and switchgears.
Experience in power system modeling and analysis tools.
- Pre-employment motor vehicle driving record verification will be conducted
