AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer to be based in Phoenix, Arizona.
Job description summary:
Serves as engineer on numerous projects.
Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
Performs quality control reviews.
Participates in development of technical proposals.
Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Initiate and create project designs and drawings/plans for transportation and/or civil design projects
Perform detailed design including preparation of complete calculation packages and development of details.
Guide drafting team for preparation of drawings from early stages of the design to the final contract plans.
Serve as a fully capable professional with minimal direction
Understand the importance of review and quality control and able to perform review of design calculations and drawings and specifications
Prepare and contribute in the development and implementation of technical approach in projects in collaboration with the Project Manager
Oversee the work of less experienced designers.
Meet with clients to ensure client needs are met
Develop estimates of technical efforts for projects
- Bachelor's degree + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Professional Engineer (PE)(Arizona)
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering + 5 - 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Experience with design software including MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil3D, GEOPAK and/or OpenRoads
Familiar with MS Office software (Excel, Word, Project)
Experience designing highway/roadway systems in Arizona
Previous design experience on transportation projects including Schematic Development and Preparation of Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E)
Experience with Business Development/Client Relations
