AECOM Traffic/Technology Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Work as part of a team and independently in evaluating and applying Traffic Engineering principles,
standards, and criteria
Interact directly with clients at project meetings and ensure that all client project designs meet engineering standards
Interact directly with other disciplines such as roadway, drainage, structures, geotech, water, and environment to coordinate design
Adhere to project schedules and budgets and keep project PM/Discipline Lead aware of any issues
Lead the development of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) packages based upon agency
standards and specifications for traffic signal and pedestrian crossing control system design, ITS, roadway lighting, Signing and Pavement Marking, and MOT design.
Perform traffic operational analysis including traffic projections, analysis, and simulation using Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, and VISSIM
Analyze crash data to identify crash patterns and probable causes, develop collision and condition diagrams. conduct predictive safety analysis.
Perform photometric analysis using AGi32 and Visual lighting
Participate in transportation planning assignments, corridor studies, safety studies, and IAJR reports
Prepare technical memorandums and papers for clients and/or internal distribution
Conduct field reviews
Represent AECOM at conferences and professional organizations
Mentor entry level engineers
- BA/BS + two (2) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
P.E. License (preferably from AZ) or able to obtain within 6 months
Master’s degree in related engineering discipline
Four years of related experience or Demonstrated Equivalency of experience and/or education
Experience in traffic operational analysis including traffic projections, analysis, and simulation using Synchro/ SimTraffic, HCS, and VISSIM
Knowledge of safety analysis using HSM
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
