AECOM Internal Communications Specialist in Piscataway, New Jersey

Job Summary

AECOM is looking for an Internal Communications Specialist for its Americas Regions Internal Communications team. This position is based within the NYC the Tri-State area with the requirement to work in the Clifton, NJ; Piscataway, NJ; and/or New York, NY AECOM office 1-2 days a week, and offers flexible work options for hybrid remote schedules.

Job Summary:

This role oversees the production of strategic employee communications, supporting key business priorities and ensuring our people are connected, informed and engaged. Reporting to the Director, Internal Communications, this person will engage with the U.S West, U.S. East and Latin America, and Canada Regions to support and advance internal initiatives.

The successful candidate will be a reliable and enthusiastic team player who is excited about joining an organization responsible for delivering many of the most iconic and impactful infrastructure projects around the world.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Build, target, test and issue monthly newsletters using Poppulo, an internal communications management tool

  • Coordinate translation and deployment of translated materials via our French translation service

  • Support internal content development, including editorial calendars and project trackers.

  • Update and continuously improve Intranet

  • Write, edit and proofread communications materials.

  • Leverage communication programs, message platforms, assets and channels to support business priorities.

  • Support efforts to ensure messages reach target audiences.

  • Develop strong relationships with internal clients to provide communications support.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, marketing, journalism or related discipline plus two (2) years of professional, corporate communications-related experience, preferably in a global, multi-site company or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong written and oral communications skills, including copyediting and familiarity with AP style.

  • Ability to synthesize complex materials and to craft creative, persuasive language and compelling messaging for a variety of global audiences.

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy, completeness and thoroughness of all work.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task and work effectively on a variety of projects concurrently in a demanding, deadline-driven environment.

  • Proven ability to ensure accuracy, completeness and thoroughness of all work products.

  • Self-starter capable of assuming responsibility for several tasks at once with little supervision.

  • Project management and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Sharepoint, Creative Suite and Poppulo knowledge is preferred.

  • Detail oriented and passionate about delivering high-value work

  • Creative and resourceful, with a keen interest on driving best-in-class communications

  • A time management superstar – able to navigate competing priorities and multiple projects

  • A quick learner who embraces new technologies and platforms

  • A positive and enthusiastic team player

  • Relocation and/or per diem is not offered for this position.
