Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a talented and experienced Senior Project Hydrogeologist to oversee hydrogeologic-related activities associated with a high-profile and complex project. The position requires an especially accomplished individual to spearhead a very demanding yet rewarding long-term project.

Applicants are required to have a minimum of 8 years of verifiable experience in roles performing hydrogeologic investigations and associated analysis and reporting of contaminant impacts to aquifers.

Responsibilities/requirements of this position include:

  • Manages and directs professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects.

  • Leads team by utilizing advanced scientific principles, theories, practices existing technologies and past experience to develop technical solutions to complex problems.

  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

  • Utilizes advanced scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies when working on unusually complex technical problems.

  • Develops solutions which are highly innovative. Assignments are often self-initiated.

  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

  • Oversees the preparation of technical work plans and organizes project studies.

  • Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team.

  • Supervises junior and mid-level staff during all phases of hydrogeologic-related project work.

  • Proven experience successfully managing high-profile, multi-faceted projects involving petroleum impacts to drinking water aquifers.

  • Thorough working knowledge of RCRA, CERCLA, and the NCP.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Hydrogeology, Geology or related field with + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Must be able to pass a background check.

  • Valid Driver's license.

  • Due to the nature of the work U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • Requires enrollment in the medical monitoring program requiring initial and annual physicals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in Hydrogeology, Geology or related field is preferred

  • Prefer a minimum of 10 years of experience in a prominent role on Hydrogeologic projects.

  • Expertise in fractured media, complex hydrogeology, groundwater flow modeling, and modeling of fate and transport of contaminant plumes in the vadose and saturated zones.

  • Experienced in the drilling of deep wells, and hydrogeological testing and investigation.

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills.

  • Superior communications, writing, editing, and reporting skills, for a wide variety of audiences.

  • Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, and schedules.

  • Must understand and have led teams of professionals in executing Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Risk Assessment, and Treatability Studies in support of Federal or State environmental projects.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $115,000.00 - $135,000.00.
