Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a talented Civil Engineer I to join our Pittsburgh, PA office. Here you will have the opportunity to deliver our scope of services to our freight railroad client. In addition, you will coordinate with Public Improvement client personnel, project sponsors and contractors to help deliver our scope of services to the Railroad client throughout the design and construction phases of the project. Typical duties and responsibilities:
On-site monitoring of field operations conducted by outside parties and their contractors for conformance with Railroad requirements and approved contractor means and methods.
Will review sponsor plans, contractor submissions, and contractor calculations for impacts and constructability issues as they relate to the Railroad client.
Will maintain accurate project records and being accountable for successful and timely delivery of project documentation (i.e., field reports and meeting minutes) while upholding the highest quality standards of AECOM and the Railroad client.
Will be proactive in responding to client requests and input.
Will assist task leaders with managing of the engineering, administration, and financial tasks for a current General Engineering Contract (GEC) with the Railroad.
Conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and simple tests.
Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.
Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS Civil Engineering plus none or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Engineer-in-Training (EIT).
Experience with AutoCAD, Open Roads, MicroStation and/or Inroad’s software.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education,
qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $55,000.00 to 96,000.00.
