AECOM Construction Inspector II in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Job Summary

AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a creative, highly talented Construction Inspector for immediate employment out of AECOM‘s Pittsburgh, PA Office. Projects will include the construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, pump stations, and reservoirs for Pittsburgh Water & Sewer Authority (PWSA), Allegheny County Sanitary Authority (ALCOSAN) and other significant water utilities in the Greater Pittsburgh region.

Responsibilities of the Construction Inspector will include:

  • Inspect construction activity for compliance with contract documents, applicable codes and industry standards.

  • Review, interpret and understand contract documents, submittals, RFI’s and change documents

  • Work in a field office on the job site

  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.

  • Inspect construction materials, workmanship, and installation of various systems.

  • RFI review and posting

  • Change document review and posting

  • As-built and record drawing maintenance

  • Maintenance of nonconformance log

  • Meeting attendance and participation

  • Preparation of daily reports and other inspection documents

  • Develop cost estimates for construction cost changes, perform material takeoffs, and assist in negotiation of equitable contract adjustments

  • Demonstrate an understanding of safety practices in the construction industry, including a background of familiarity with OSHA safety requirements on construction projects

  • Monitor daily field safety

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 2 years of experience inspecting the construction of municipal infrastructure

  • Must have a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of experience inspecting the construction of Water infrastructure

  • Experience with Electronic Project Management Software such as eBuilder or EPM
