AECOM Proposal Marketing Specialist III - Work from home or any US Office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Proposal Marketing Specialist to develop proposals supporting our Environment Business Line. The position can be a work from home position or it can be based out of any AECOM Environment office in the United States. If you know how to structure and write winning proposals and SF330 submittals for private, commercial, federal, utility, and/or energy clients, this is a great opportunity to progress your career as part of a growing team.

Job Summary/Responsibilities

The Proposal Marketing Specialist will work closely with the Environment marketing team, business line leadership, operations, and support staff to prepare must-win pursuits. The job includes preparing large and strategic proposals and presentations, providing support and guidance from pre-RFP pursuit positioning through to interview stage, as required. Subject matter will include environmental services supporting private, commercial, energy, and US government (state, local, federal) clients. The ideal candidate will bring sharp compliance, skilled writing, and creative design ideas as well as strong experience preparing winning proposals. Strong communication skills are needed as this position works with individuals within all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare proposals, including schedules, templates, compliance, content planning, and production

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including leadership on must-win pursuits

  • Provide conceptual expertise for document design, while ensuring RFP instructions and internal brand guidelines pertaining to format, fonts, etc. are being followed

  • Participate in go/no-go and greenlight analyses in compliance with delegation of authority guidelines, capture planning and positioning activities as they pertain to preparation for the proposal

  • Facilitate pink and red team, quality reviews, and apply lessons learned to add value to proposals

  • Implement proposal and presentation revisions based on direction from review teams

  • Write and edit tailored executive summaries, resumes, experience, past performance, and management sections for proposals

  • Support debriefs and gathering of client feedback on proposals to ensure and demonstrate continuous improvement

  • Support special projects, as required

Successful candidates will demonstrate they have the initiative, skill, and personal commitment to manage multiple projects and details concurrently, follow up, and bring tasks and projects to full completion. An ability to produce accurate, compliant, and compelling work independently and with others is essential. The position also requires an ability to meet non-negotiable client deadlines, sometimes with very fast turnaround times.

About Corporate—General

  • As a member of the corporate team, you will work with professionals at our headquarters in downtown Los Angeles, California and in business offices around the world to advance AECOM’s global strategies and priorities. With positions around the globe, the Corporate team includes finance, legal, human resources, information technology, marketing and communications, and real estate functions.

Minimum Requirements

  • In order to be considered for this position, candidates must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or a related field, plus four (4) years of relevant experience working in marketing at an engineering/construction company or professional services firm doing proposal writing

  • Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional experience writing, coordinating, and managing proposals preferred

  • Strong writing and editing skills

  • Ability to write, edit and produce documents in Word and Power Point

  • Strong communication skills, able to work effectively within all levels of the organization

  • Experience with Adobe InDesign

  • A working knowledge of collaborative tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, etc.

  • Experience managing complex proposals for a variety of client types including federal government

  • Experience managing proposals for architect-engineer, environmental and other professional services

  • An understanding of CRM

  • Salesforce experience
