AECOM has a position available for a Senior Wildlife Biologist (Avian and Bat) to be based in any AECOM office in the United States, preferably East Coast. In this role the qualified candidate will join our Impact Assessment and Permitting Team supporting our Energy practice including routing, siting, and permitting of offshore and terrestrial wind farms, solar generation facilities, electric transmission lines and substations, natural gas pipelines, and other related facilities

We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.
Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
This position will focus on growing our wildlife biology practice with a particular emphasis on AECOM’s offshore energy program and the impacts of these projects on Bat and Avian species.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in assessing the risks of wildlife collisions with the development of infrastructure projects on protected wildlife species
Technical duties will include studies, surveys and assessments providing programmatic oversight on the development of environmental documents including Environmental Impact Statements, BOEM Sampling and Analysis Plans and Construction Operations Plan, particularly as it relates to the development of offshore wind farms.
BS in Biology, Wildlife Biology or related field
10+ years of relevant experience to include having provided expert advice / guidance on the risks of generation projects to avian and bat species.
Must be willing and able to travel when and as requested
Pre-employment motor vehicle record check will be conducted

MS in Biology, Wildlife Biology or related field, is preferred
Candidates with offshore seabird expertise along the east coast is highly desired.
12+ years of relevant experience assessing the risks of wildlife collisions with the development of infrastructure projects on protected wildlife species is highly desired
Some previous experience conducting studies, surveys and assessments, providing programmatic oversight on the development of environmental documents including Environmental Impact Statements, BOEM Sampling and Analysis Plans and Construction Operations Plan, particularly as it relates to the development of offshore wind farms
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
