Job Description
AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Engineering Project Manager- Wastewater for immediate employment at AECOM‘s Raleigh, NC office with flexibility of having a hybrid schedule with work in office 2-3 days per week. AECOM's mature and growing water / wastewater practice in North Carolina and adjacent states work with our region's largest water and wastewater utilities and supports AECOM's national and global Water business to executed transformative projects around the globe. The qualified applicant should have extensive experience leading the analysis and design of water/wastewater treatment facilities, collection systems and conveyance systems. This position will provide the opportunity by lead an engineering team on a wide variety of projects. Project Leadership, managing and mentoring technical staff, developing new business and maintaining client relationships.
AECOM has an extensive portfolio of municipal clients and utility projects in North and South Carolina. Our highly capable technical teams are in place and experienced in delivering complex projects for clients. The qualified applicant will join a mature business, with a unique opportunity to immediately begin managing multiple clients and employees.
The responsibilities of this include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Manages projects, including scoping, task management, invoicing, and final closeout
Plans, schedules, conducts and/or coordinates detailed phases of engineering work of a major project, or several small-moderate scope projects
Supervise and mentor junior staff
Planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services and will include activities focused on design of municipal water/wastewater projects
Communicates project tasks between offices – high level of coordination and communication skills required
Makes technical presentations
Responsibilities may include overseeing the planning and design of various project elements, the preparation of project reports, hydraulic models, calculations, drawings, construction plans and specifications, permitting packages, and documents for inclusion in the final project deliverables
Overseeing construction phase engineering services
Coordination with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public will be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS and 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in good standing, preferably in North Carolina or the ability to obtain via reciprocity.
Relevant experience must include with progressive experience as PE/PM in municipal water/wastewater work and engineering design, assessment, and rehabilitation projects.
Proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to successfully manage diverse teams.
Demonstrated project management experience including delivering projects successfully, on time and on budget.
A demonstrated proven track record of leading technical engineering and successfully managing water and wastewater projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering is desired
8+ years of progressive experience in municipal water/wastewater work including infrastructure engineering design, assessment, and rehabilitation projects preferred
Experience in managing and/or delivering projects by “alternative delivery” is a plus
Experience mentoring or supervising other engineering professionals
Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with diverse audience
Experience in preparation of engineering proposals for submission to clients

Relocation support is not available for this position
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $95,000.00 - $145,000.00.
