Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Engineer IV to work in our Raleigh, NC office with project management experience to be based in our Raleigh, NC office. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line. This position is expected to begin immediately.

In this role, the selected applicant will be responsible for working on investigation and remediation projects while managing AECOM staff, subcontractors, technical delivery, stakeholder engagement/communication, and financial management.

The selected candidate will also assist/lead project and program management with design and implementation of soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water investigative and remediation programs, data analysis, and report preparation.

This position will also assist in the performance of regulatory compliance inspections, sampling, and reporting associated with the implementation of permit and/or regulator requirements for commercial/industrial facilities.

The job responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:

  • Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team

  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.

  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.

  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.

  • Prepares technical specification sections.

  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering or related field + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Professional Engineer License (PE)

  • Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review

  • As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a medical screening

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering or related field

  • 7+ years of experience performing and leading site investigations that includes soil/groundwater/vapor sampling, soil boring/monitoring well installations with various drilling techniques (i.e., DPT, HSA, sonic, air rotary, mud-rotary, etc.), analytical data interpretation and reporting.

  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification

  • Project management experience

  • Proficient technical writing (remedial investigation reports, corrective action studies, etc.)

  • Fluency with CAD or GIS

  • Experience with various remediation technologies; vapor mitigation systems, AS/SVE systems, pump and treat systems, chemical injections, soil blending, thermal remediation, bio-sparge, etc.

  • Experience with groundwater modeling and numeric computing programs

  • Current OSHA 30-Hr Construction Training

  • Experience with NCDEQ DSCA/IHSB/UST programs and/or PFAS investigations

  • Familiarity with State (i.e., NCDEQ, SCDHEC, etc.) and Federal Environmental Regulations

  • Relocation is not available for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $89,000.00 - $100,000.00.
