AECOM Real Estate Appraiser in Raleigh, North Carolina

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Real Estate Appraiser based in North and South Carolina. The position is an on-call/casual opportunity. The selected appraiser will work a variable schedule based upon client assignments.

Responsibilities:

This program involves the real estate appraising of properties affected by the NCDOT and SCDOT Highway programs. The candidate appraiser must have experience in appraising before and after value along with determining damages to the remaining property. Work involves considerable public contact with landowners, state and local officials, and other highway officials. Work is guided by federal and state laws, policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 4 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • North Carolina and/ or South Carolina certified general real estate appraiser license

  • 4 plus years experience in writing appraisals following USPAP standards for appraisals used in the acquisition of property under the Uniform Act and NC and/or SC Eminent Domain Law for appraisals written for the acquisition of property for the state highway system.

  • Ability to collect, analyze sales data to arrive at fair market value conclusions

  • Ability to appraise all types of properties both complex and non-complex

  • Ability to communicate findings in oral and written form

  • Ability to testify and communicate as to findings

  • Knowledge and efficiency of Word, Excel, Scanning and Internet

  • Valid North Carolina and/or South Carolina driver’s license are required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of right of way or real estate NCDOT appraisal experience

  • NC and/or SC DOT Pre-Qualified ROW appraiser
