AECOM Senior Traffic Noise Analyst in Raleigh, North Carolina

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a talented Senior Traffic Noise Analyst to join our Raleigh, North Carolina office.

The position will be instrumental in developing traffic noise solutions for our North Carolina transportation business lines. Projects will encompass from NCDOT large interstate highway to many regional, city and municipality complex transportation noise analysis. Will work closely with our transportation roadway and transportation teams.

The candidate must be knowledgeable in traffic noise analysis, as it pertains to roadway planning and design projects. Areas of experience include: providing traffic noise analyses using TNM software in the performance of performing preliminary traffic noise reports, and final design noise reports, noise data collection in the field, traffic noise task order scoping and estimating, and any other tasks or efforts pertaining to traffic noise.

Minimum Requirements

  • BSCEBachelor’s degree in engineering, planning, earth sciences, GIS, or equivalent, required

  • 6 +years of traffic noise analysis experience

  • North Carolina NCDOT or other DOT experience in traffic noise modeling and reporting required

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working on roadway planning projects

  • Understanding of NCDOT (or other DOT) guidelines / procedures / policies

  • Ability to scope/estimate simple and complex tasks

  • Track and manage task budgets and schedules

  • Demonstrate leadership skills and communication skills requiring client interaction

  • Ability to work with various multi-disciplined teams is essential to this role

  • Familiar with MicroStation/AutoCAD, Traffic Noise Modeling (TNM) Software, Microsoft Office, GIS software

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS BS/BA in Civil Engineering and 15+ years of experience.

  • TNM 2.5 Training Certification

  • National Highway Institute Noise Training Course Certification preferred

Additional areas of expertise could include: traffic forecasting, traffic capacity analysis, traffic simulation, transportation planning, GIS, roadway design, community studies, NEPA/SEPA documentation, public involvement
