AECOM Stormwater Engineer / Project Manager in Raleigh, North Carolina

Job Summary

AECOM has a Stormwater Engineer / Project Manager position available in Morrisville, or Raleigh, NC. In this role the employee will provide project/task management and client service interaction on a variety of stormwater and water resources engineering projects.

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Planning, designing, regulatory compliance and permitting on current and future projects in North Carolina and across the Mid-Atlantic Area. Projects will include stormwater management and watershed/water quality planning studies, stormwater facility (e.g., BMP, GI, LID practices) evaluation, design, and inspections.

  • Tasks may include providing engineering or scientific support for field investigations, feasibility studies, design documentation and construction inspection phases of projects including report writing and field data collection.

  • Develop (scope, fee, schedule) and effectively manage small to mid-sized stormwater and water resources engineering projects while meeting AECOMs key performance indicators and metrics. Follow and implement AECOMs quality management protocols and health and safety standards in project execution.

  • May act as Deputy Project Manager or Task Manager with other Senior Staff on larger multi-disciplinary multi-year contracts.

  • Lead or support the design efforts for a variety of water resources engineering projects. Prepare construction documents, engineering reports, and research basic data and scientific documents regarding stormwater, water quality, watershed management, and best management practices.

  • Lead and perform hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality modeling, and geospatial evaluations.

  • Lead and perform watershed and water quality assessments and conventional aspects of watershed planning and BMP prioritization.

  • Prepare written and graphic reports and make presentations to internal staff, clients, and other regulatory groups.

  • Support the development of proposals in response to RFQs.

  • Interest in business development with private, local, state, and federal clients.

  • Support training and mentoring of junior staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering required

  • 4+ years of relevant water resources or related experience

  • Registered EIT / FE required

  • Pre-employment motor vehicle driving record verification will be performed

  • Must have a valid United States driver's license

  • Some Travel may be required within the region (up to 25% )

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer Bachelors degree in Civil, Environmental, Biological or Agricultural Engineering

  • 6+ years of relevant water resources or related experience

  • Highly desired, North Carolina PE license or active PE license with capability of reciprocity
