Job Description

AECOM’s Brazil Technical Audit Program is one of the most significant ongoing ESG programs in the world. The Audit Programs was created in response to catastrophic dam failures in 2015 and 2019. AECOM is looking to duplicate this audit framework and standup a hub in Raleigh.

Leaders in this audit programs have come from management consulting firms and have been successful at applying management consulting tools to AECOM’s superior technical delivery teams. The aim of the Raleigh program is to build a North American client base. Key sectors of focus are Oil & Gas, Mining & Metals, and Utilities and Energy Companies.

AECOM is looking to hire a VP Program Management with a specialty in Mining & Metals to join our advisory team, leading on some of the most complex capital infrastructure programs globally. You will initially develop and lead on several strategic pursuits, moving on to lead the program upon successful award. This position will be located out of our Raleigh, NC office.

Responsibilities:

  • Business development including identification of existing account opportunities and development of new client engagements, engaging with c-suite decision makers

  • Leading and overseeing program management aspects of strategic pursuits with mining and metals industry clients

  • Client meetings to determine project value added, scope definition, budget, and schedule.

  • Development of large programs, characterized by high risk-reward ratios, complex execution requirements, and significant strategic importance.

  • Serving as the driving force within the organization, providing technical leadership, strategic direction and quality control for program delivery.

  • Recruit, manage, and upskill a specialized team for project delivery.

  • Holding ultimate accountability for the overall financial success and delivery of the mining & metals vertical under the Technical Management Advisory practice.

  • Promoting a culture of ethics and safety, ensuring the well-being of our workforce remains a top priority in all operations.

  • Fostering innovation by spearheading advancements in program management approaches and methodologies, differentiating us from competitors in the marketplace.

  • Collaborating closely with Global Business Lines, Regional leadership, and Market Sector Leaders to identify new business opportunities and develop visionary solutions.

  • Proactively identifying and mitigating areas of high risk, exerting a positive influence on program outcomes.

  • Playing a pivotal role in shaping our global learning and people development strategy for program management, including identifying talent gaps and devising resource plans for future growth.

  • As a recognized authority in your field, continually assessing long-term and disruptive trends in the mining & metals sector.

  • Taking a key role in proposing skill development approaches and workforce planning to ensure we have the capabilities needed for the future, acting as a driving force behind our continued success.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in business administration, engineering, sciences, or a related field +EXTENSIVE experience working within a Global Professional Services Firm, including 6 years of leadership.

  • Extensive managerial, business development and/or capture management experience with consulting projects within the Mining & Metals industry verticals.

  • Exceptional business acumen, with long-standing relationships with industry leaders at C-level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Experience in the development of new programs, including program management functions (e.g., scope, schedule, and budget).

  • Able to demonstrate a high level of expertise in applicable technical areas or an aspect of program management that frequently is called on by clients and peers to position or deliver complex programs.

  • Has a detailed understanding of the program management competencies needed for success on complex programs and can critically evaluate and apply the competencies as required. Has proven experience managing others practicing the program management competencies on several complex programs.

  • Demonstrates exemplary leadership attributes that provide role modelling for others.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrate ability to develop strategic priorities and analytical frameworks.

  • Able to build consensus to change program strategy in challenging situations.

  • Demonstrated ability to set long term goals and strategies and establish effective management of internal and external interfaces and interdependencies across the program.

  • Has built diverse and inclusive teams to enable collective success through trust, psychological safety, autonomy, accountability and alignment.

  • PMI-PgMP, APM-RPP or CMAA-CCM Certification (or equivalent) preferred but not essential

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $200,000.00 - $300,000.00.
