Job Responsibilities/Duties

This position will work in the One System Infrastructure Integration organization. The Project Specialist would report to the Infrastructure Integration Manager, and/or organizational Project Manager(s). The focus of this position is to ensure a successful commissioning and startup of related Hanford contractors to support direct feed low-activity waste (DFLAW) vitrification. Specific duties include support to the ILAW (immobilized low-activity waste glass containers) Transporter Project Manager in areas of cost, scope and schedule management. Effort is needed to ensure completion within schedule and budget of the prototype ILAW transportation system testing and final system design, and procurement of the fabricated systems. Effort is also needed to support secondary waste management interface activities between multiple Hanford contractors to ensure safe and efficient commissioning and operation of DFLAW program activities.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, project management, or scientific/engineering disciplines and a minimum of 2 years' experience in related engineering, construction, project management, nuclear, or technology-based industries
