AECOM is hiring a Senior Interior Designer for the Roanoke, VA office.
Job responsibilities will include:
Responsible for initiating and developing design and technical drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project’s discipline leads.
Under minimal supervision, may develop complex design and technical drawings
Applies a solid level of understanding within a specific discipline.
Develops planning and creative design concepts for projects based on client’s needs.
Analyzes space and quantifies how to effectively use that space by evaluating user's needs.
Works with clients as well as the internal and external project team to execute the project from concept to execution and completion.
May hold pieces of projects or have a significant technical role as a project lead; final authority usually rests with a more senior staff member or manager.
May provide technical guidance to less experienced design staff.
May travel domestically or overseas as required

In each of our projects, we act as stewards of our client’s vision, aspirations and fiscal realities.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in architecture or interior design and 6+ years of related interior design experience of commercial and governmental interior construction projects
Licenses, and/or certifications required: National Council of Architectural Review Boards (NCARB), and/or National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ)
US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the projects
10+ years of related interior design experience of commercial and governmental interior construction projects preferred
Working knowledge of systems furniture and specifications, demonstrated experience and emphasis on space planning, experience with building codes and ADA requirements
Demonstrated experience in working with other disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, telecom, fire protection
Demonstrated experience in gathering and defining design requirements with requesting customers and preparing alternative solutions ranging from conceptual design to final design within established parameters
Demonstrated experience creating design and construction documents, and generating presentation graphics, collecting, preparing, and reporting programmatic information
Ability to work within US Government organization and follow established processes and procedures
Experience handling multiple, demanding, and complex projects in a timely manner with accurate results
Ability to work independently and in team situations
Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Adobe Creative Suites software (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
General knowledge of design development, construction documents, finish selection and Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) processes.
Strong communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills fostering a positive work environment
