AECOM Environmental Scientist/Engineering III in Rocky Hill, Connecticut

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a mid-level scientist/engineer to join our Remediation Engineering team in Rocky Hill, CT for employment to be a task leader for a variety of environmental projects (i.e., Site Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and Remedial Actions). Candidate will work with a diverse team of project managers and technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting services to key clients in the Northeast. The successful candidate will have at a minimum a BS in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science with a successful work history of environmental investigation and remediation projects.

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Project and task lead, data analysis, report writing, cost estimating, remedial plan preparation, and design support.

  • Plan and direct Phase I through Phase III environmental activities, sampling and remediation programs, and critically evaluating analytical data.

  • Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced project manager and/or engineer:

  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignment.

  • Provides mentorship to junior level scientists/engineers.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

  • Ability to travel periodically and conduct field work support.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology or Environmental Science or related discipline.

  • Four (4) + years of related experience in environmental consulting for Federal, State, or private clients.

  • Environmental site investigation, remediation planning, and/or design experience.

  • Must be comfortable with periodic travel for regional project assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with response and environmental investigations and through site clean-up and closure.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) certification is preferred.

  • Experience working with the Connecticut Remediation Standard Regulations (RSRs).

  • Candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.

  • Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects.

  • Project management experience.

  • Positive attitude and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.
