Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineer III to be based in Rocky Hill, CT. In this role, the ideal candidate will lead the design effort and project management for bridge projects in Connecticut and other states through AECOM’s Northeast region.

The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Lead Structural Engineer on projects including reviewing designs and plans.
Provides specialized technical input on transportation related projects.
Manages bridge projects including design tasks and coordinating work with engineering staff.
Conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of new bridges utilizing pre-stressed concrete, reinforced concrete, structural steel, and timber components.
Assessment and rehabilitation design of existing bridges.
Load evaluation of existing bridges.
Prepares technical specifications and design documents, report writing, technical engineering support, and limited inspection during construction.
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and four (4) years of relevant experience in transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Professional Engineer (PE) license and be willing to obtain reciprocity in the jurisdiction of the projects.
Relevant experience working on 'mega' projects that are at/near a billion dollars
Experience using MicroStation, OpenBridge, and/or other similar computer software
Preferred Qualifications
Six (6) years of relevant experience is preferred
Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering
Project experience with CTDOT and/or other State DOT’s is desired
Railroad bridge experience is a plus

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $84,000.00 - $136,000.00.
